Built on lived experience, not just expertise

For years, I focused on building a successful career in engineering and leadership earning my MEng (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, becoming a Chartered Engineer, and leading teams within technology organisations.

Along the way, I experienced redundancy personally and later found myself supporting engineering teams through restructures and organisational change myself. Sitting on both sides of those conversations completely changed how I viewed career development and transition support.

I realised that most people are given very little meaningful guidance during some of the most uncertain moments in their careers. Too often, the focus is only on finding the next role quickly, rather than helping people navigate change with clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of what they actually want from their work and life.

That experience is what led me to create The Ascend Foundation.

My approach combines leadership experience, structured coaching, and practical career strategy with something I believe is often missing from professional development conversations: humanity.
